With Liam McNamara, Keeper of the Department of Antiquities and Lisa and Bernard Selz Curator for Ancient Egypt and Sudan at the Ashmolean Museum

The stone statuette known as 'MacGregor Man' has been the subject of controversy since it first came to light at the end of the 19th century.

Is it an authentic ancient Egyptian sculpture dated to about 3100 BC, or a masterful modern forgery? This talk will explore arguments for and against the statuette’s authenticity based on recent research.
