With Anna Steven, Ashmolean Gallery lecturer and guide
Samuel Palmer is a key figure in Romanticism in Britain. He produced many visionary pastoral paintings, etchings and prints. The Ashmolean houses a significant and important collection of his work.
The hour-long session allows close inspection of Palmer's works on paper in the Print Room.
Anna Steven, Gallery Lecturer, has worked with the Print Room to select chosen prints which show inspiration, development, and the legacy that Samuel Palmer leaves us.
During the tour, you'll also delve into the background of Palmer's life, his struggles, and the incredible range of this unconventional and experimental draughtsman's work.
