In the third of our Love & Poetry series of talks, Dr Steve Kershaw will explore ancient love and the poetry it inspired through the vases, frescoes, sculptures, and paintings in the Ashmolean’s world-renowned collection of Greek and Roman antiquities.

Combining moving and enchanting verse with the brilliance of the ancient artistic tradition, he will share the delights and dangers of Aphrodite and Eros as experienced by mythical lovers in some of the world's greatest poetic works from Homer to Ovid.
The talk will be recorded, and the recording will be shared with all ticketholders following the event.
